XyaGoth
Every House has a keeper.
Mine simply came with a title.
I am Xya Avila de Rivera, founder of The Gothimore and the woman known publicly as XyaGoth.
Long before there was a shop, a collection, or even a name for the House, there was a fascination with what exists just beyond what we can see.
Since childhood, I have been drawn to the ancestors, the dead, divination, astrology, tarot, old rituals, botanical traditions, cemeteries, mourning customs, and the beautiful ways human beings have attempted to understand life, death, fate, and whatever may exist between them.
Some of it was inherited.
Some was taught by the elders and passed down through ceremony, discipline, and tradition.
And some of it simply seemed to have always been there.
The Unseen
My spiritual practice is rooted in ancestry, intuition, divination, and communication with the unseen.
Over time, I developed my own relationship with these traditions through tarot, oracle, astrology, psychic and intuitive work, ancestral practice, and what historically would have been called Necromancy; work centered upon communication with and reverence for the dead.
To me, death has never meant the absence of relationship.
Those who came before us remain woven into who we are, through our names, faces, traditions, stories, grief, and sometimes through experiences considerably harder to explain.
That is why you will encounter The Ancestors throughout The Gothimore.
They were here before the House.
A Love of the Macabre
I have always found beauty where others might see darkness.
Cemeteries. Mourning jewelry. Old photographs. Candlelit rooms. Victorian homes. Botanical cabinets. Religious iconography. Ravens, relics, velvet, aged wood, handwritten letters, and objects that appear to have lived an entire life before reaching your hands.
The macabre does not have to be grotesque.
Sometimes it is extraordinarily romantic.
It reminds us that life is temporary and, perhaps because of that, deserving of ceremony.
The Gothimore was created from that philosophy.
Not darkness for darkness's sake.
Beauty with a little mortality behind it.
The Madame
Xya is the woman.
The Madame is the keeper of the House.
It is not another name, but a title... a mantle belonging to The Gothimore itself.
I am its first keeper.
One day, another woman may stand where I once stood, and the title The Madame of The Gothimore may pass to her, and eventually to the generation after her.
The woman changes.
The Madame remains.
The Gothimore is not being built merely for the present. I am building something meant to remain long after I am gone.
Because eventually, we all become ancestors.
The question is what we leave behind.
I intend to leave a House.
Welcome
Whether you arrived because of a candle, a deck of cards, an old book, a botanical preparation, a reading, the unexplained, or simply because something about this strange little House felt familiar...
Welcome.
Explore. Ask questions. Light the candle. Honor your dead. Romanticize the shadows.
And whatever you do...
Trim the damn wick.
With love from the House,
𝑿𝒚𝒂𝑮𝒐𝒕𝒉 🥀
